Hi there!! Welcome to my Pokémon Shrine. Pokémon is very near and dear to my heart; it's been close to me ever since I was a kid and there is a lot to love about it. This shrine is a space dedicated to information, art, etc about Pokémon to show appreciation. 💚
This shrine's aesthetic is inspired by the Celebi shrine in Ilex Forest! I thought it'd be cute to style this shrine after an actual shrine in the Pokémon games :3
What is Pokémon?
Pokémon, (an abbreviation for Pocket Monsters), is a Japanese media franchise created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996 that focuses on fictional creatures called "Pokémon". They are monsters with incredible power and potential, and they inhabit the world far and wide in the Pokémon Universe. Pokémon Trainers are people who catch Pokémon, befriend them, train them to get stronger, and battle with other Pokémon trainers. Pokémon is a collection and exploration based role-playing game series. Since its rocket to success and stardom, it has spawned an ongoing Trading Card Game and Anime series, multiple spin-off titles, and LOTS of merchandise. As of writing this, there are over 1,000 unique Pokémon species for you to catch and befriend!
Why do I like Pokémon?
The idea of a world full of amazing, fantastical monsters who can be your friend and fight by your side is genius. I love the creativity behind the monster designs, I love the world, I love the sense of exploration and adventure each game inspires, and most of all, I love getting to befriend my Pokémon and go on a journey with them.
